2. What This Policy Covers

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. It applies to all users of Argon News, whether on the free tier or a paid subscription.

We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) where applicable.

3. What Data We Collect

Account data

When you create an account, we collect your email address. This is required to provide access to the service.

Payment data

If you take out a paid subscription, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details or full payment information. We receive from Stripe only a confirmation of payment status, your subscription tier, and a Stripe customer reference. Stripe's privacy practices are set out at stripe.com/privacy.

Marketing preferences

If you explicitly opt in at signup, we record your consent to receive marketing emails. We store the date and method of that consent.

Usage data

We use Cloudflare Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — pages visited, approximate geographic region, device type, and performance metrics. Cloudflare Analytics does not use cookies and does not track individuals across sites. No personally identifiable information is collected through this mechanism.

We will only send you marketing emails if you have explicitly opted in at the point of account creation. You can withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time by:

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not affect delivery of transactional emails related to your account or subscription.

6. Who We Share Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the third-party processors necessary to operate the service:

Stripe— payment processing. Data processed under Stripe's own terms and privacy policy. Stripe may store data outside the UK/EU; they maintain appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses.

Resend — transactional and marketing email delivery. Email addresses are shared with Resend solely for the purpose of delivering emails on our behalf. Resend processes data in Ireland (EU West).

Cloudflare— platform infrastructure and analytics. Your data is processed on Cloudflare's infrastructure within the Western Europe region (data centres in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, France, Spain, and Portugal). Cloudflare acts as a data processor under a Data Processing Addendum; details are available at cloudflare.com/cloudflare-customer-dpa.

We may disclose your data if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

If you have an inactive free account with no activity for 24 months, we may delete it and notify you by email beforehand.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you have the following rights:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@engramic.ai. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or with your local supervisory authority if you are based in the EU.

9. Cookies

Argon News does not use tracking or advertising cookies. We may use strictly necessary cookies to maintain your login session. Cloudflare Analytics operates without cookies.

10. International Transfers

Stripe may process payment data outside the UK and EU. Where this occurs, Stripe relies on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards approved by the relevant supervisory authority.

All other data processing for Argon News takes place within the UK or EU. Resend processes email data in Ireland. Cloudflare processes platform data within Western Europe.
